Interview With Amie Plumley – Part 2
In case you didn’t see the first part of this interview, you can check it out here. There’s also a little bonus chat here.
I had the awesome privilege of sitting down and chat with Amie Petronius Plumley, the author of the awesome kids sewing books
- Sewing School: 21 Sewing Projects Kids Will Love to Make
- Sewing School 2: Lessons in Machine Sewing
- Sewing School Quilts
- And the upcoming Sewing School Fashion Design.
In the second half of this interview Amie & I chatted about her toddler sewing class (yes, I said TODDLER). I am completely in awe of the fact that she’s teaching 16 months old how to sew with their parents. I have a feeling you’re going to be totally blown away too.
We also chatted about how important we both feel it is for kids to not only sew their own project, but design it as well. I may have gotten on a bit of a soapbox here, so please bare with me 😉
And who else gives their kids lace sewing challenges? Seems that this is the thing that people love to donate to sewing studios and we found that Amie and I are both very fold of seeing what adorable things kids can make with surplus lace.
I’ll be sharing one more bonus convo we had after we said our goodbyes towards the end of the week, so check back for that!
As you can see, Amie is a pretty cool human being and I enjoyed talking to her a lot!
