Modern Quilting Lab
There's no better time to learn how to quilt! And now you can learn from the comfort of your own home. The Modern Quilting Lab is currently only being offered virtually At Home with Live Video Instruction. Our experienced sewing instructors will teach you how using high quality video lessons with a live instructor answering your questions along the way.
In this quilting & appliqué class, each of the three weeks we'll focus on a few different modern, yet traditional quilting techniques per week. At the end of the class, your work can be put together to create a beautiful modern mini quilt. Whether you're a complete quilting beginner, or if you've done some quilting before, there's going to be a lot of information and different techniques packed into this 3 week workshop.
- Week 1 | Patchwork Squares, Triangles & Pinwheels.
- Week 2 | Log Cabin, Applique & Dresden Plate
- Week 3 | Finishing Up, Quilting & Binding the Quilt

Upon sign up for the class, students will receive an email with class login instructions. You'll also receive access to a password protected personalized student web page.
All class instruction is recorded and can be easily accessed during the class and beyond. You'll also have access to helpful on-demand sewing videos.
This beginner sewing class will not go over threading the machine, threading the bobbin, winding the bobbin & operating the machine properly.
If you've never done this before on your own and don't feel confident doing it independently, we highly suggest signing up for a 45 Minute Sewing Machine Operators License Private (Video) Lesson .
Supplies are not included in the price of the class.
You'll need the following supplies for this class:
- 6 Cotton 1/4 Yard Pieces
- 1 Yard Quilt Batting

Tools Needed for At Home Sewing Classes:
- Sewing machine
- Polyester Sewing Machine Thread
- Marking tool that shows up on your fabric (pencils, colored pencils or pens usually work)
- Computer printer
- Scotch tape
- Printer paper
- Seam ripper
- Clear quilting ruler
- Rotary Cutter
